What inspired you to start participating in roller derby? I watched the movie “Xanadu,” when I was a kid, and I’ve thought people who could skate were so fucking cool ever since. Then I realized I could be one of those people! Plus I wanted to learn to appreciate my body for all the strong things it can do, and be a part of a really welcoming community. The community here is what makes the Bettie’s so special.
Advice to First Years: To show up and try anyways even if you’re scared!
Favorite moment: Getting MVP blocker in my first bout against Whidbey Island Roller Derby.
